About
Originally from Latvia, Diana Fleysher is an American artist who lives and paints in metro Detroit, Michigan. Diana creates abstract paintings on canvas, wood or silk, that are inspired by natural elements, the universe, and her travels around the world. Deciding to take a break from her corporate career gave her an opportunity to focus on developing her own artistic style . As a self taught artist, her painting process evolved to be mostly intuitive, and she loves experimenting with texture and different mediums as well as combining soft and bold colors. She wants her art to evoke the feeling of joy and possibility in those who interact with it.
One of the things that sets her apart are her paintings on wood panels. She is specifically attracted to pieces of wood that have imperfections or blemishes which others may reject. It is in those imperfections and blemishes where she sees potential for beauty while others may see flaws. This gives her artwork a distinct and personal touch.

"Sloppyperfect" is the metaphor Diana chose for her art and her studio. It prioritizes joy with a whimsical twist, embracing imperfection and allowing oneself to explore and create without the pressure of perfection. It encourages a playful approach to one's artistic pursuits and life in general, emphasizing the importance of starting and taking small steps rather than getting caught up in overthinking or self-judgment. It's about finding joy and possibility in the process and letting the art and life lead where it may.
